On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with James Feng, the director of the forthcoming mixed martial arts documentary film "Fight Life".
"Fight Life" will attempt to portray the reality of the mixed martial arts business from the standpoint of the professional fighters. From receiving low pay on small shows, to fighting as a profession without any medical insurance, to surviving through their often unglamorous but grueling everyday lives, the documentary will aim at chronicling their real lives, rather than some canned and staged version passed off as a "reality" show.
Expected to be released in June 2010, "Fight Life" currently stars Frank Shamrock, Jake Shields, Nick Diaz, Lyle Beerbohm, Ryan Schultz, Matt Lindland, Miesha Tate, Gilbert Melendez, "Big" John McCarthy, and author Sam Sheridan.
We sat down with James Feng to discuss "Fight Life" and what he hopes to accomplish with this film.
The No Holds Barred theme song is called "The Heist", by Ian Carpenter.
